Mable Ringling loved Roses and Italy, her rose garden is based on the formal Italian wagon wheel design. The rose garden was completed in 1913 and it was thought to only contain US Roses from 1913 to 1929. Due to lack of technology every two years they would replace half the roses. Now they can grow them for 12 to 15 years before being replaced. The Mable Ringling Rose Garden has been designated an "Accredited Public Rose Garden" by the American Rose Society. They ask that you don't pick the roses or place your camera tripod in the rose beds, and enjoy and take the pictures from the pathways.
