F.S. Harmon was a large furniture manufacturing business and this building was their mattress warehouse. This sign advertises the "Slumberite" mattress.

At one time Tacoma produced more furniture than any other city in the United States and F.S. Harmon was a giant in the industry. This flatiron is one of several of their warehouses, which stored mattresses. The sign advertises "Slumberite" a mattress the company sold.
The warehouse has been renovated and is now part of the University of Washington Tacoma campus.
