From the plaque mounted on the arch: Original wood frame and beaverboard triumphal arch erected for June 12, 1919 celebration honoring Lee County WW1 veterans and Dixon's Co. C, 123rd Field Artillery, 33rd (Prarie) Division. Deteriorating arch replaced in 1949 and then again in 1965 when Galena Ave. was widened. Fiberglass arch erected and rededicated Veteran's Day Nov. 11, 1985.

The arch over Galena Ave is located at Lee County Court House in Dixon, IL. Galena Ave is part of the original coast-to-coast Lincoln Highway.
