Benjamin Franklin was a member of the Continental Congress "Committee of Five", serving as Pennsylvania's representative. He served on the committee along with Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, Robert Livington and Roger Sherman. The committee decided that Jefferson would write the original draft of the constitution, which he showed to Franklin and Adams. Franklin was said to have made 48 corrections himself.
