Wilmington section:
The CITY HALL, NE. corner 3rd and Princess Sts., built in 1855, has
18-inch walls surfaced with cream stucco and is fronted by Corinthian portico.
Besides housing municipal offices the building contains Thalian Hall, an
auditorium seating 1,000 and the Wilmington Public Library with 25,000 volumes.

The Wilmington City Hall and Thalian Hall have been renovated over the
years including a Public Works Administration renovation in 1940. The
renovation of the building was completed most recently in 1990.
Thalian Hall continues to be used for theatrical performances. The
Wilmington Public Library in no longer located in the building and is
located across the street. The building was listed in the National
Register of Historic Places in 1970.
