This nature center is the center for all activites in John E. MacArthur Beach State Park. These activities include: Guided Kayak Tours, Nature Walks, Nature Rides, Birding Walks, Butterfly Education, Bluegrass Jam Music Session, Kayak Rentals, Yoga on the Beach, Kayak Lessons, and Animal Feedings.
In the nature center there is a 15 minute - "Island in Time" video shown throughout the day upon request. Professionally produced video introduction to the diverse ecology of the park. Also offers detailed overviews of the Park's habitats: the rock reef, dune, hammock, and estuary. Two large aquariums, live animals, and a gift shop round out the Nature Center.
