The house is intimate to the nature that surrounds it. The broad brick chimney anchors this cozy house while its profusion of windows offsets its tiny scale and let in both nature and daylight. It should be noted that in the Village of Riverside a gardener did not simply rake the leaves and trim the hedges. Rather the gardener was king, carrying on the tradition of Frederick Law Olmsted and Jens Jensen. This house along with the rest of the estate was divided and sold to separate owners in the 1950s. The present owners, professionally engaged in gardening and design, delight in owning such a landmark .
