DESCRIBED BY GEORGIA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION 1972 (WRN) THE STATION IS LOCATED 3.2 MILES NORTH OF CARTERSVILLE, AND 10.2 MILES SOUTH-SOUTHWEST OF THE INTERSECTION OF U.S. 411, STATE ROUTE 61 AND STATE ROUTE 140 EAST NEAR A LARGE KOA CAMPGROUND SIGN. TO REACH FROM THE INTERSECTION OF STATE ROUTE 20 AND U.S. 411 NORTH OF CARTERSVILLE, GO NORTH ON U.S. 411 FOR 0.30 MILES TO A Y INTERSECTION (COUNTY ROAD 91021) TO THE LEFT AND A FIELD ROAD RUNNING WEST TO THE RAILROAD TRACKS. GO WEST ON THE FIELD ROAD FOR 0.20 MILES TO THE RAILROAD TRACKS. CONTINUE AHEAD ON THE FIELD ROAD WESTERLY ALONG THE EDGE OF A COTTON FIELD FOR 0.20 MILES TO A GAP IN A FENCE. PASS THRU THE GAP AND GO NORTHERLY FOR 0.20 MILES TOWARDS THE HIGHEST POINT ON THE HILL AND THE STATION SITE AT THE WOODSLINE. A JEEP IS REQUIRED TO GO THE LAST 0.20 MILES. THE STATION IS A STANDARD DISK STAMPED 008-221 AND SET IN A 10-INCH CYLINDRICAL CONCRETE POST PROJECTING ABOUT 2 INCHES ABOVE THE GROUND LEVEL. NO UNDERGROUND MARK WAS SET. THE STATION IS LOCATED 40.3 FEET SOUTHEAST OF A 14-INCH BLAZED OAK TREE, 28.5 FEET SOUTH OF A 10-INCH BLAZED CHERRY TREE, AND 41.3 FEET SOUTHWEST OF A 10-INCH BLAZED OAK TREE. TO REACH THE AZIMUTH MARK FROM THE INTERSECTION OF U.S. ROUTE 41 AND U.S. ROUTE 411 NORTH OF CARTERSVILLE, PROCEED WEST ON U.S. ROUTE 41 (U.S. ROUTE 411) FOR 0.20 MILES TO A BRIDGE OVER LOUISVILLE AND NASHVILLE RAILROAD TRACKS. THE MARK IS LOCATED ON THE NORTHWEST BOUND BRIDGE IN THE TOP OF THE WINGWALL ON THE SOUTHWEST CORNER OF THE BRIDGE. THE MARK IS A STANDARD DISK SET IN DRILL HOLE WITH EPOXY FLUSH WITH THE CONCRETE OF THE BRIDGE WINGWALL.

My observed changes to the above:

The cherry tree referenced is leaning due to erosion of the roots. Probably will not be standing very much longer. The oak tree is now approximately 30 inches in diameter .The mark is about 4 feet W of a 15 inch pine tree.

The mark is now on the south edge of a pretty well used vehicle trail. It is approximately 4 feet south of the center of the trail.
