Enlisted in July 1775, served at various times under Capt Wm BAILEY, SMITH, John HOLDER, Wm HOGAN, James STINSON and Cols Benj LOGAN,
ISAACS and JOHNSON in the Virginia and North Carolina Troops.

Was in Gen George Rogers CLARK'S Expedition.

In July 1779, was in a skirmish against the indians in Kentucky under Col LOGAN. In May 1780, was with his father, Capt Wm BRYAN when the latter was killed by indians.
