A statue of Colonel Hans C Heg located in Heg Memorial Park which can be seen from the intersection of Heg Park Rd & S Loomis Rd in Racine County, Wisconsin. Heg was a Colonel of the 15th Wisconsin. He was wounded in the abdomen at the battle of Chickamauga, Georgia and was taken to the Field Hospital. He passed away one day later on Sept 20 1863. Colonel Heg was the highest ranked Wisconsin soldier killed during the civil war.
