Built in 1734, the church was built by Rev'd John Garzia. There is no recorded history on where the materials came from, who the builders were, or how the construction was financed.
The roof on the church today is not the original roof since a storm has ripped off the previous roof sometime in the 1840s. This storm is believed to have also destroyed any historical records the church was storing.
The church was restored in 1938 to 1941.
