McMinnville Hydroelectric Station was built in 1923 and supplied power to the surrounding area until TVA came along. After the big Dams were built on the Tennessee River and other smaller rivers to supply electric power this small station outlived it usefulness.
It is now part of a greenway overlook in a great little park along the Barron Fork River.
