Originally opened in 1937, the original West Main Street venue was destroyed by fire but reopened in 1949, boasting some of the most innovative indirect lighting effects and architectural finishes in the South.
After multi screen theaters opened here, the Park was closed and the building converted into office suites. The property owner, however, preserved most of the unique decorative features.
At the height of its popularity, as many as 1,200 moviegoers could be seated in the cavernous theatre.
The theatre is now VACANT
