LIGHT - U.S. Benchmarks on Waymarking.com

Recovered on the southwest corner of a concrete footing that is the remnant of an old searchlight structure on the former Fort H.G. Wright military reservation. The area is now heavily overgrown, but the mark is stable and plainly legible.

To find the mark, turn left by the Fishers Island School after leaving the ferry dock area. Take the first left onto a dirt road that will lead you down to Runway 12-30 of Elizabeth Field. Follow the road to the end of Runway 12, cross the end of the runway, and follow the road to its end. The marker is located in dense undergrowth approximately 100 meters southeast of the small pond at the end of the road.
