Long Description:
Plans for the Basilica started in the middle of the 19th century and were decided on following the 1870 war. Construction commenced in 1872, following the plans of P.Bosson (1814-1888), who was succeeded by Sainte-Marie Perrin. The last stone was laid in 1884 and the building was consecrated in 1896.
