This topiary garden was started in 1989, with the vision to create a topiary interpretation of Georges Seurat's famous painting, A Sunday on the Island of La Grande Jatte.

Located in the "Old Deaf School Park" in downtown Columbus, it brings a tranquil air to the hustle and bustle of Ohio's capital city.

The garden consists of "54 topiary people, eight boats, three dogs, a monkey, a cat and a real pond. The largest figure is 12' tall." There is a bronze plaque embossed with the image of the painting on site so one can compare the garden to the painting.

The park is free to enter, and is open from Sunrise to Sunset everyday, year around. There is metered parking nearby, and on weekends some of the local parking lots are free.

Just a heads up for some. The park tends to have a few homeless people milling about, however, in the several times I've been there I've never been bothered, nor even asked for change. They're not there to cause trouble, it's just a small refuge for them.

Information about the park and museum can be found here.
