This fountain was erected in memory of Theodore Roosevelt, twenty-sixth President of the United States, with a fund contribution by individuals and by the Chicago Zoological Society. - 1954
The Roosevelt Fountain is surrounded by 1.5-acre wildflower garden consisting of 23,000 perennials and 10,000 bulbs. The plantings planned so that there will be a succession of different blooming plants throughout the growing season
Because of Chicago's freezing winters, this fountain is operational seasonally.
