Due to the 1906 earthquake, the Agnews Insane Asylum lost 117 patients who were buried in a mass grave on site. It has been rumored that these lost souls are still present on the site. They have appeared as apparitions, strange laughter, screaming, cold spots and freezer doors flying open violently along with the ejection of the contents.
