This bronze bust of Prime Minister W.E. Gladstone was erected in Penmaenmawr by public subscription in 1899. The bust sits on top of a granite obelisk and is within a small triangular enclosure.

Gladstone was a frequent visitor to Penmaenmawr due to his close friendship with the local quarry-owning Derbyshire family.

The obelisk has the following inscriptions:

North: GLADSTONE
South: ERECTED / BY PUBLIC / SUBSCRIPTION / 1899
East: 29TH DECR. 1809 / TO / 19TH MAY 1898
West: STATESMAN / ORATOR / SCHOLAR

There is a small plaque at the base of the obelisk which states that the original bust was stolen in 1977!
