Styled after a New England Meeting House, and one of Moncton's oldest standing buildings, the Free Meeting House was constructed in 1821 and has been occupied by various religious denominations over the years. Designated a National Historic Site.

A major restoration in the early 1990s preserves the original design and appearance for generations to come. The adjacent burial ground includes headstones dating to 1816.
