The cobblestone school was built in 1838 as District School #5. It is one of the few remaining examples of cobblestone construction remaining in Livingston County. It functioned as a school for nearly a century. In 1932 the building became the Livingston County Historical Museum. Behind the musuem is a separate building built in 1890, the Hose Cart House. It was restored in 1995 and houses a collection of county fire memorablilia. The musuem has many displays including old toys, military items, Indian artifacts and Valley wildlife, to name a few. The museum has a genuine Concord Coach as well as a large exhibit of farm and equestrian items.
Theme: The exhibits range from relics of pioneer days to momentoes of the 20th century.
