Temple Background
The Monticello Utah Temple was the first of the new generation of smaller temples as conceived by President Gordon B. Hinckley.
Once the smallest temple of the Church, the temple was expanded an additional 4,000 square feet to include a second ordinance room and sealing room in 2002; the expansion also included a waiting room, offices for temple workers, and a laundry.1
