Most people know of a man named John D. Rockefeller and the company Standard Oil. Very few know that Henry Morrison Flagler was his business partner in Standard Oil. Flagler was born in Bellevue, Ohio (the location of this marker). He eventually moved to Florida and became a big railroad developer. It is fitting that his historical plaque should be in front of the Mad River and Nickel Plate Railroad Museum in his birth town.
