Crowley
Founded 1886 & soon emerged as center of state's rice industry. Historic district listed on National Register of Historic Places. Significant for its impressive c. 1890 - c.1930 commercial area & its superb Victorian residences.
Erected by the Department of Culture, Recreation, and Tourism 1984
This town seems very small but appears to have a world renowned Rice Festival every year. The marker appears on the main street from the Interstate to the down town area.
