Crites Hall was built as a men's dormitory in 1938. The building was a Public Works Administration project and was built in a Art Deco style. The building is named in honor of Edwin D. Crites (1884-1953), a Chadron attorney who had served on the college board from 1931 to 1953. The building is now used as a student activities building.
