Bix Beiderbecke

1903-1931 Bix Beiderbecke, born and laid to rest in Davenport, was a legendary jazz pioneer who played the cornet unlike anyone before or since.
He composed music on the spot, never purformed a songthe same way twice, inspired Hoagy Carmichael's "Stardust" and maid 250 recordings beforehe died at age 28 in 1931.
