A rack railway to the "Top of Europe" railway station at Jungfraujoch (for access to Aletschgletscher) has an intermediate stop at Eigergletscher station (Waymark coordinates) providing a splendid panoramic view of the glacier, with a restaurant. It is also possible to ski back to Grindelwald non-stop from this station in winter, vertical descent approx 1200 metres, however, if you are visiting glaciers, you will want to catch the next train to Jungfraujoch and enjoy the journey through the bowels of the mountains.
The rail access route is standard gauge Swiss railway to Interlaken, 1 metre gauge rack-assisted railway to Lauterbrunnen or Grindelwald, narrow gauge rack railway from Lauterbrunnen or Grindelwald to Kleine Scheidegg, then a train or hike from Kleine Scheidegg to Eigergletscher station.
