Anthony Quinn was a 19th century entrepeneur who came west for the California gold rush. Later he moved east with the building of the Central Pacific Railroad, finally settling in Evanston in the 1870's. He opened the town's first bank and became involved in territorial politics.
The house, located downtown on Center St., was built for the Quinns in 1883 and is a good example of late 19th century Victorian architecture as constructed in small western towns.
