Stockton plays in the Class A Advanced California League. They had been playing at Billy Hebert Field, a poorly designed park from the 50s, in an iffy part of town. The team wanted a new park, and were threatening to move, so finally the city built the new park, in conjunction with an arena and waterfront park. In return, the team has signed a long term lease, and has a long term agreement with their parent club, the Oakland Athletics. The park has many of the popular amenities, and has a unique group area in right field which actually protrudes onto the field. The evening that I visited the park, they were playing the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes, but sadly I didn't have time to attend.
