This is a tasting room for the Penguin Bay wines and for the Champagnes (I'll just stick with that term) of its sister lables Swedish Hill and Goose Watch.
The Penguin Bay wines were of moderately fair quality (I favored the Muscat), but it was the Champagnes that caught my attention.
They didn't just have the basic three of Brut, Dry, and Extra Dry. They also have some decent Spumantes and blushes. What gave us a "WOW moment" was the Swedish Hill Blanc de Blanc.
The Blanc de Blanc is from a Cayuga White grape developed by nearby Cornell University specifically for the Finger Lakes Region. So, of course, we had not tasted anything like that before.
