DESCRIBED BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1958 (JEG) THE STATION IS LOCATED ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF STATE HIGHWAY 318, ABOUT 1.0 MILE EAST OF THE CENTRAL SECTION OF THE CITY OF WEST MIDDLESEX. IT IS 95 FEET SOUTH OF THE CENTER OF STATE HIGHWAY 318, 57 FEET SOUTH OF A POWERLINE POLE AND 48 FEET NORTHWEST OF THE NORTHWEST CORNER OF A LARGE BARN. TO REACH THE STATION FROM THE TRAFFIC LIGHT AND INTERSECTION OF STATE HIGHWAYS 18 AND 318 IN WEST MIDDLESEX, GO EASTERLY ON STATE HIGHWAY 318 FOR 1.2 MILES TO THE TOP OF A LOW HILL AND THE STATION ON THE RIGHT HAND, SOUTH, SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY, AS DESCRIBED. CONTINUE STRAIGHT AHEAD, EAST, ON STATE HIGHWAY 318 FOR 0.15 MILE TO A BLACK-TOP ROAD ON THE RIGHT HAND, SOUTH, SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY. TURN RIGHT AND GO SOUTH ON THE BLACKTOP ROAD FOR 0.4 MILE TO THE AZIMUTH MARK ON THE LEFT HAND, EAST, SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE STATION MARK, A STANDARD DISK STAMPED WHIRT 1958, IS SET IN THE TOP OF A SQUARE CONCRETE MONUMENT WHICH IS ABOUT 14 INCHES BELOW THE SURFACE OF THE GROUND. REFERENCE MARK NO 1, A STANDARD DISK STAMPED WHIRT NO 1 1958, IS SET IN THE TOP OF A SQUARE CONCRETE MONUMENT WHICH IS ABOUT 6 INCHES BELOW THE SURFACE OF THE GROUND. IT IS 74 FEET SOUTH OF THE CENTER OF STATE HIGHWAY 318, 37 FEET SOUTHEAST OF A POWERLINE POLE AND 1 FOOT WEST OF THE NORTHWEST CORNER OF A LARGE BARN. REFERENCE MARK NO 2, A STANDARD DISK STAMPED WHIRT NO 2 1958, IS SET IN THE TOP OF A SQUARE CONCRETE MONUMENT FLUSH WITH THE SURFACE OF THE GROUND. IT IS 81 FEET WEST-NORTHWEST OF THE NORTHWEST CORNER OF A LARGE BARN, 52 FEET WEST OF A POWERLINE POLE AND 38 FEET SOUTH OF THE CENTER OF STATE HIGHWAY 318. THE AZIMUTH MARK, A STANDARD DISK STAMPED WHIRT 1958, IS SET IN THE TOP OF A SQUARE CONCRETE MONUMENT FLUSH WITH THE SURFACE OF THE GROUND. IT IS 147 FEET SOUTH OF POWERLINE POLE NO. 603-12, 21 FEET EAST OF A BLACKTOP ROAD, 5 FEET NORTH-NORTHEAST OF A STANDARD METAL WITNESS POST AND 2 FEET NORTH OF POWERLINE POLE NO. 603-13.

From the junction of State Highways 18 and 318 in West Middlesex, go 1.35 miles east on Highway 318 to a crossroad. Turn right and go south on Mitchell Road for 0.4 mile to the azimuth mark on the left. The mark is set in the top of a concrete post which projects 2.1 feet and is leaning slightly to the west. It is 21 feet east of the centerline of Mitchell Road, 8.6 feet southwest of the centerline of a driveway leading to house number 370, 6.8 feet north of pole 603-13, and 2.5 feet north of a metal witness post.
