Longaberger Basket - Newark, Ohio - Ginormous Everyday Objects on Waymarking.com

Driving down the 4 lane State Route 16, heading east out of Newark, Ohio the first views are of the giant handles on the roof. Slowly the entire building comes into view and you're staring at one-heck-of-a large basket right at the side of the road.

The Longaberger headquarters is designed to look like one of their trademark baskets. Standing 7 stories tall, with 180,000 square feet of space, this is exactly 160 times the size of their Medium Market Basket. The handles are heated to prevent ice from forming on them. Due to their design too much additional weight could cause them to collapse.

Folks are welcome to visit, and often there are bus loads of people coming and going here. Admission is free!
