The coordinates listed are for Blast Furnaces 1 & 2 of the old Joliet Iron Works. These were part of the original facility built in 1869.

To access the site and read the interpretive signs yourself, the recommended parking is at N 41d32.224' W 88d 04.798' and then take the trail to N 41d32.378' W 88d04.737' to begin the tour.

The entire area is in a state of ruin. Leaving the path is extemely hazardous.
