Text from the mural on the side of a building on 2nd Ave. N in Wisconsin Rapids, WI:
'"The Iron Horse in Grand Rapids"
1871-1872 found the Iron Horse arriving in Grand Rapids & Centralia. The Railroad replaced log river rafting & its loss of life on the dangerous river rapids. A modern iron bridge was built to withstand the early spring thatws. Long, tiring stagecoach & wagon rides became a thing of the past.'
