Tarryall is now a near ghost town located in a scenic area about 15 miles north of St George, in Park County Colorado. The first school in the Tarryall area opened in the 1880s. This Tarryall School building, preserved by the Colorado Historical Society was in use from 1921 t0 1949. It was placed on the National register of Historic Places in 1985. The historical marker at the location relates the history of schools in Tarryall.
