This smasher is at the zoo side exit door of the main building at the entrance to the zoo. It has 4 designs: a tiger, a leopard, elephant, and a poison dart frog (see photos). Two of the actual designs differ from the sign on the machine. The tiger is lying down and the elephant’s trunk is in a different position. The machine is in excellent condition. The price is 50 cents and your penny. Because the machine is indoors, the coordinates given above are the nearest outdoor coordinates, about 50 feet away on the zoo side of the building.
We didn’t notice at the time but the sign on the machine indicates that there is another penny smasher elsewhere in the zoo.
The Zoo is located in Burnet Park in Syracuse, New York. Rosamond Gifford is home to over 1000 animals! The entrance to the zoo is on S. Wibur Avenue. Hours are 10:00 to 4:30 year round and the admission is:
Children (age 3 to 15) - $4.00
Students (age 16 to 21 w/ID) - $4.50
Adults (age 16 to 61) - $6.50
Seniors (age 62+) - $4.50
Children 2 and under - Free
