This unique marker was placed after a new boundary survey was mandated by the Court in 1925 to settle a survey
dispute between the two states. According to
this discussion on the groundspeak forums, unique Supreme Court benchmarks like this one were placed every mile along the boundary.
The marker is located about 550 feet due east of the Four Corners Monument. The monument is near U.S. Highway 160, about 40 miles southwest of Cortez, Colorado. There is a $3 per person fee to access the monument.
