This memorial stands in Pawtucketville, a neighborhood in Lowell, Massachusetts that is on the north side of the Merrimack River. The monument is a very large stone block, engraved with the following:

"Erected by the grateful people of Pawtucketville
In memory of those valiant residents who made the supreme sacrifice in all wars in which our country was engaged.
Dedicated May 30, 1951"

The memorial sits in an alcove at the southern corner of Mammoth Road and Varnum Avenue, on the shore of the Merrimack River, right near the Pawtucket Dam. Nearby is a memorial to the Indian chief Passaconnaway.
