Goldsboro is a community situated in York County, Pennsylvania on the banks of the Susquehanna River. This Blue Plaque is located along Cly Road SR 262 at the borough line.

Goldsboro was named for Major Goldsboro a distinguished Civil Engineer. Goldsboro was founded in 1850, and has about 940 residents.

A short story about Goldsboro:
Goldsboro is better known as Etters, even though there is no such place as Etters, PA in any official sense. Etters is simply the name of the post office in Goldsboro. The USPS even says that the name Goldsboro is not acceptable for sending mail, and to use Etters (ZIP 17319).
