The monestary of the Society of Saint John the Evangelist, the oldest Anglican monastic community for men, was built in 1936 and overlooks the Charles River along Memorial Drive.

"The great house was built in 1924, and the monestary and church in 1936. The architect was Ralph Adams Cram."

The monestary is located along Memorial Drive, which is along the Charles River, and is not far from Harvard University.
