This Locomotive is Located in the exact center of Luna County, New Mexico near Interstate 10,Deming was founded in 1881 near the junction point of the 2nd Transcontinental Railroad.
Named for Mary Ann Deming, wife of 19th Century railroad magnate Charles Crocker.
Old Southern Pacific Locomotive Engine 1221 has been retired to its final resting place next to the Deming-Luna County Chamber of Commerce & Visitor Center.
There is also a caboose to tour for the kids and some old boxcars as well.
