This overlook can be reached via a short 1/4 mile (possibly less) trail from the parking area. You will find yourself 500 feet above the forested confluence of the Wisconsin river with the Mississippi river. The overlook area was created by the Civilian Conservation Corps using native stone from the bluffs.
These native hardwood forests are listed as a National Natural Landmark. Within them live many rare plants and some endangered wildlife.
The overlook is within Wyalusing State Park. There is a $10 day use fee for non-residents, but there's plenty of hiking, boating, swimming and more to make that $10 worthwhile.
