The area surrounding Westfield is filled with grape vineyards. When I first travelled here there was a large Welch's plant. That plant has been closed for years with the operations consolidated into nearby Northeast PA, but many of the grapes still come from the area. If you like the smell of grapes (I do), there is nothing like driving through Route 20 or one fo the surrounding roads in the fall with the windows down.
Westfield's other claim to fame is here now only in memory. There had been a drive-in theatre/motel near the post office on Route 20. You could watch the movies from your room. The motel still operates and the projection building still stands, but the screen has been removed.
The town is quite pleasant with a small park and gazebo in the center of town and a uniquely shaped library to the south of Route 20.
