Rufus was a performing Black Bear. He lived and worked at Clark's trading post in North Woodstock, NH. Clark's is known for their bear performances. On a recent trip we watched the bear show twice. The bears are taught to hoist an American flag, sink some basketballs, balance on balls, ride scooters, clap, walk on barrels and swing in a swing. Rufus lived and worked at Clark's for 38 years and 7 months, which is said to be the longest living black bear. He is buried on the grounds inside the park at Clark's. There is an entry fee to get into the park, but once in, you can full use of the park. The owners of Rufus were very proud of him. He has a nice plot along-side some other bears.
