The Children's Memorial Park is dedicated to children in the community who have died. There is a ceremony each year to remember the children, especially the ones who died from violence and accidents.
The park has a playground, picnic areas and places to play ball but off in one corner is a memorial of granite slabs with the names of the children engraved on them. Anyone who is a parent or guardian can have their child's name engraved. There are also some statues and granite with poems on them. It's a very tranquil corner of the park but also very sad.
The park is next to the Rillito Riverpark so it has a lot of traffic that goes by and I don't remember going by it without people there. It's not a hyper sport park, like many, but just a place to relax with people and enjoy.
