This courthouse is a fine example of Richardsonian Romanesque Architecture. When it was constructed in 1894, at a cost of $130,000, it had a taller tower with a Seth Thomas clock. The top of the tower has been removed but otherwise the building has changed little. It's located in the downtown area of Monmouth adjacent to a central traffic circle park. Warren county was formed in 1824 and this is its fourth courthouse building.
