The cathedral St. Peter in Worms is the smallest of the three rhenisch emperor cathedrals (Mainz, Speyer and Worms).
It was built beetween 1130 and 1181.
The cathedral is 110 m long and 27 m wide.
Historical milestones related to the dome:
- Election of Pope Leo IX. in 1048
- Concordat of Worms in 1122
- Diet of Worms in 1521 where Martin Luther was questioned about his 95 theses and other writings related to or written by him.
