If Corpus Christi has a front lawn, it’s Bayfront Park. The park stretches down the esplanade of Shoreline Boulevard, from the Art Museum of South Texas to the Art Center of Corpus Christi. At Peoples Street the park widens to encompass a municipal marina, full of colorful boats and home to a Landry’s Restaurant. One of the Columbus boat replicas is moored in the marina. From the marina, during most months, you can grab a water taxi across the ship channel to Corpus Christi Beach. Sculptures, from flying marlins to Mirador de la Flor, a memorial to slain Tejano artist Selena, grace the park.
