The trailhead for the Turkey Path Trail starts near the visitor center and overlooks at the Leonard Harrison State Park. The falls can be viewed during a 800' descent on a 1-mile trail. The largest falls are about 30', but there is a sequence of falls and cascades from about 1/4 of the descent through to the gorge. The Little Four-Mile Run flows into Pine Creek at the base of the trail.
Adventurous hikers can also park at a parking area at floor of the gorge and hike the floor of the gorge to the Turkey Path Trail. This is a much longer walk involving additional miles of hiking. The trail is an old rail trail. It is easy to walk and relatively flat.
If you stop to see the waterfalls in the spring, pay attention to the wildflowers. The Turkey Path Trail has the greatest concentration of red trilliums we have seen, and there are areas with large numbers of bloodroot along the Gorge Trail. The heavy tree cover on the Turkey Path Trail also attracts many varieties of birds.
