Just a little south of the Charles Bridge (west end) is a wall that is used as a place to leave John Lennon and Beatles graffiti. This memorial has existed since the 1980's. Wikipedia link: (

I found the geocache here, GCZQ7Q (Lennon Wall). It is a very popular place. In the 15 minutes I was there, at least a dozen people stopped to take pictures and remember the bard.

John Lennon was a songwriter and guitarist of the British band The Beatles. This band was very popular and had many hit songs. After The Beatles broke up, John Lennon continued his musical career as a solo artist, often recording with his wife Yoko Ono. He painted and focused on raising his son, Sean Ono Lennon (wiki: (

John Lennon was murdered outside his home in New York City, in December 1980.

On 14 December 1980, millions of people across the world responded to Ono's request to pause for ten minutes of silence to remember Lennon. Thirty thousand gathered in Liverpool, and the largest group - over 100,000 - converged on New York's Central Park, close to the scene of the shooting.
I was going to school at the University of Bridgeport in December 1980. Finals were coming up and I needed to start learning some stuff real fast. I could not go to memorial in New York.
I did take a walk along the shoreline toward Fairfield, CT. I remember feeling depressed. The circumstances surrounding his murder were so bizarre that I had trouble processing it. He truly was taken from us too soon.
As I walked and reflected, I sang Imagine, Watching the Wheels and a few other of his songs. I shed a few tears and started to return to the dorm. At approximately the time of the moment of silence, it started to snow. It was a strong snow squall. It lasted about 10 minutes. It didn't snow before or again that day.
